The Garland Tea Party is sponsoring a candidate forum for all area residents. Come out to hear and meet the candidates that will be on your ballot in November 2010! Get informed, ask questions and meet your neighbors. Live music and fun!!!

Date: Thursday - August 12th, 2010
Time: 6:00pm to 9:30pm –
Place: The Atrium – Downtown Garland – 300 N. Fifth Street

Ted, I started writing a very long response about this but decided to cut it back as to not offend. Please release the names of ALL the candidates running in the November elections that effect Garland residents. Most real Tea Party people like to do their own research rather than take the word of a small group of Garland politically savey people. Though the selected candidate 'might' be the selected choice, the RIGHT choice is the one made in an informed way.

I hope you understand that I support the Tea Party values but I need to know for myself which candidates support my ideals and have learned no to take the word of the candidates or others, but to review their actions and lives myself. The American people have made way too many voting mistakes and I do not wish to have my votes added to that growing list.

We cannot have all of the candidates that will be on the ballot. Time will not permit. I will post a list of the ones attending in the next few days. We are still firming things up.

You can go to www.garlandteaparty.org to see what we stand for and against. I am here on this site to simply make an announcement of an event. I will not debate the issues here.

Ted is simply making an announcement about the upcoming forum.

It is my understanding that this simply a forum for the candidates to get their messages out.

Personally, I have come to the conclusion that most if not all political elections actually do effect all of us directly or indirectly with the exception of City Council Elections in other counties!!!

I understand. Problem is there is NO information on the candidates out yet. Still a little time, but I would expect some information, at least from the Tea Party organization.

I agree to a certain extent with your assesment, but unfortunantly with our government run amock, more and more elected officials are effecting each of us personally. Even Senators and Congressmen from other states are having a far reaching effect on my personal financial situation and every day life. This is why I choose to become part of theTea Party movement. I cannot afford our government anymore and I dont wish to move to a 3rd world country in order to be able to live well and retire one day. I choose to try to fix the problem here instead. I hope other will wake up and do so too.

Katrina Pierson will emcee the event.

The following races will be featured: Dallas County District Attorney - Dallas County Judge - State Rep 102,113 - Sate Board Of Education Dist. 12 - Constable Pct. 2

We have at least one of the candidates for each of these races in attendance.

All have been or are being invited.

Other candidates and public officials will be present. You will have time before and after to mingle if you wish.

We will post more information as it becomes available. this should be very informative and fun.
