There is hope, Jim. I was wrong once - back in 1939. I thought I had made a mistake and I hadn't.
Seriously, I enjoy a good discussion whether on theology, politics, or??? I think studying theogy and various languages plus public speaking and teaching perhaps sharpen your debating and analytical thinking skills ???
All the best,

Congratulations, John!

Congratulations, John! You made it in spite of my endorsement and support.

Don't think so low of yourself, Roy!

Ultimately, it was John, walking the soles of his shoes off, that made it happen. Out there, meeting and greeting the people of District 5: He was, and is willing to do what it takes to make a positive difference in Garland. I wish him the very best.

Now, there are at least 2 great cooks on the council!

Thank you.

The campaigns in District 5 were well fought. I now look forward to the hard work ahead. Walking every neighborhood in the district did indeed leave me with a pair of worn out shoes. I learned a lot talking and listening to people on their doorsteps. Now I'm ready to roll up my sleeves and get to work.

Mike,
I was being facetious. I'm sure I helped with conservative Christians and the bleeding heart, liberal, tax and spend crowd were not going to vote for John, anyway. Glad he got it by a healthy margin. I am looking forward to consistent efforts to decrease regulations and spending. Unfortunately, with only two dyed in the wool, conservative, minimal govt., council members, it is going to be an uphill battle.I think John has some skills in concensus building, which he will surely need.

All the best,

Roy

The Preacher is right, John has some skills in concensus building. He got the concensus on who won the election for sure. It has been too quite after this election. I think we need to have an awards ceremony or something. There are some stories from this election that are going to be told for years. I hate to admit this, but Pentecost will probably get most of the nominations.
